Please Join Congressman Ted Lieu at a Town Hall: Now more than ever, it is critical to engage with our neighbors to ensure that our government reflects the needs of all people.

With daily reminders that the Trump Administration is trying to take away health insurance, damage our environment, separate families and commit our military to fighting wars without authorization from Congress, now is a vital time for us to discuss how we can get involved and act to protect our nation.

With that in mind, I would like to invite you to join me as we have a community conversation about how we can resist, organize and stop the President's radical agenda.

I have set up this Town Hall to discuss how we can move forward and protect our communities.  Given the volume of requests, you should RSVP and arrive on time.  Together, we will take our country back!

Thank you!

State Ballot Measures

Proposition 50 – Suspension of Legislators (SCA 17 Steinberg)

No Consensus
(Westchester-Playa Democratic Club Executive Board Recommendation)

Constitutional Amendment - The state Constitution has rules for how to remove (expel)  state lawmakers for wrongdoing but no rules to suspend them for a limited period of time. The measure would add rules to the state Constitution about how to suspend state lawmakers, not just how to expel them including without salary and benefits. Prohibits suspended Members from using powers of office or legislative resources. Suspension would require a 2/3 vote of fellow lawmakers.
