Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti to Discuss ReformsIn City Government At Nov. 6 “First 100 Days, plus…” Forum
Garcetti, City Attorney Mike Feuer, City Controller Ron Galperin, and LA City Councilmember Mike Bonin will field questions on the changing face of city government.
Los Angeles, Calif., Nov.4, 2013—Since taking office in June, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has undertaken an impressive stack of reforms. They include reorganization of the Mayor’s office, asking all General Managers to reapply for their jobs, creation of a new performance-tracking system that is viewable on a public web site, and more.
At a Nov. 6 forum entitled “The First 100 Days, plus…,” the mayor will be joined by City Attorney Mike Feuer, City Controller Ron Galperin, and LA City Councilmember Mike Bonin. All four will describe their plans and the initiatives they have launched to address critical fiscal and operational issues facing Los Angeles.
“We’ve passed the 100-day mark since taking office,” Garcetti said. “This forum is a good occasion to discuss with the public our goals and the progress we’re making.”
The forum will take place at Loyola Marymount University on Nov. 6 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Award-winning broadcast journalist Warren Olney will moderate the formal presentations by city officials and questions and answer session—including public queries.
“We are excited to give the public this chance to meet face to face with top city officials in confronting the issues faced by Angelenos,” said Cara Robin and Sheila Mickelson, presidents of the West LA Democratic Club and the Westchester-Playa Democratic Club, which, with LMU, are hosting the event.
